Direct election of Senators?
« on: February 05, 2014, 12:19:41 PM »
Article 1, Section 3 of our Constitution stated:

"The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, chosen by the Legislature thereof for six Years; and each Senator shall have one Vote."

The Seventeenth Amendment changed that to read:
"The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, elected by the people thereof, for six years; and each Senator shall have one vote...."

Do you think it was a good change? Should the People directly their Senators, rather than the Legislatures of their states?

If Hillary was the answer, then it must have been a really stupid question!
