Politics In General / Now hiring!
« Last post by Jim Nunziato on November 01, 2016, 02:57:04 PM »
The United States Of America is currently taking job applications for position of President!

There are four job applicants, but only two of them have any chance of actually being selected for the job.

Donald Trump, in his lifetime, has created tens of thousands of jobs, and employed tens of thousands of people. How does a person get to work for Donald Trump? They have to apply for, and be interviewed by either Donald, his Board of Directors, or perhaps he created a Human Resources Department to do the hiring. Then the job applicant has to convince those who make the decision, that he is qualified to execute the requirements of the job. After hearing from all the available job applicants, a selection is made, and one of the applicants is hired. (We all know who does the firing, don't we?  "You're Fired!!!")

Perhaps, for probably the first time in his life, Donald Trump is applying for a job from someone else.  To whom is he applying? What are the first three words of the Constitution? "We The People!" We The People get to make the final decision of who gets "hired" for the job. We will make our final decision and choice by November 8th.

So, let's put aside all the mud slinging and personal character assassination, (from both sides) and focus on the important issues we should keep in mind when evaluating the resumes of the two job applicants.
  • Which of the two job applicants will nominate justices to the Supreme Court who will uphold and support the Constitution?
  • Which of the two job applicants will secure our borders?
  • Which of the two job applicants will end the Syrian refugee program and keep radical Islam terrorists OUT of our country?
  • Which of the two job applicants will end "Common Core" and return education back to the States?
  • Which of the two job applicants will put our coal miners back to work?
  • Which of the two job applicants will renegotiate better trade deals with other countries?
  • Which of the two job applicants will rebuild our military?
  • Which of the two job applicants will secure and preserve our Second Amendment?
  • Which of the two job applicants will repeal and replace obamacare?
  • Which of the two job applicants will do a better job of stimulating our economy?
  • Which of the two job applicants will take care of our veterans?
  • Which of the two job applicants will support our Law Enforcement Officers?
Do I need to continue? To all the "Never Trumpers" out there, I ask, how about "Never hillary"? I ask that you put aside all the reasons you don't "like" Trump's personality, or whatever reason you don't "like" him, and just focus the issues that will directly affect the direction of our country. It would be one thing if we could separate ourselves from the liberals, and let them do their thing, and we conservatives could do ours. Sadly, it doesn't work that way. We're all in the same boat, and if it sinks, we all go down together. We have to do whatever we can to "Save the Ship!"

How many of you have seen Hailey's Comet? It only comes around once every 75 or 76 years, and if you miss it, too bad. You will most likely never get to see it again in your lifetime. Donald Trump and his offer to "Make America Great Again'" is like Hailey's Comet to America. It will only come around once in our lifetime, and if we don't take advantage of it this time around, we'll not likely see another chance within our lifetimes. Let's not blow it!

John Adams said, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." I believe we are a silent majority, who are moral and religious. It is time for the silent majority to speak up and scream from the rooftops (with our ballots) and make our voices heard! It is time to awaken the sleeping giant! We need to raise the roofs off of the voting booths through our ballots! We need to create vibrations at the ballot box that will show up on the Richter scale!

We each need to make our own personal decisions, and overwhelmingly hire the job applicant whom we believe can (1)receive enough support to actually be hired for the job, so they can (2)do their best to secure and protect America's best interests. Use your own judgement to evaluate all of the job applicants, make your decision, and ensure that your voice is heard by voicing it through your ballot by November 8th!

God Bless America!!!

Politics In General / Can a private citizen make demands on the FBI?
« Last post by Jim Nunziato on October 30, 2016, 10:34:00 AM »
10 days before election day, the FBI announced that they are reopening the investigation concerning the democratic party nominee, Hillary Clinton.

At this point both party candidates are PRIVATE CITIZENS. Neither holds any current government position. How then, does the democratic party nominee DEMAND that the FBI release everything they have in this investigation? Since when does a PRIVATE CITIZEN demand anything from the FBI? Talk about "unprecedented!"

They want "full disclosure and transparency," they say.  If they want full disclosure and transparency, how about disclosing the real content of the conversation between the democratic party candidate's husband and the Attorney General's private meeting on her airplane on the tarmac? Do they actually expect the American people to really believe that they only talked about their "grandchildren?"  Is there anyone who actually believes that? How stupid do they actually believe we, the American people are?

Not having access to what the FBI now has, is it reasonable to assume that the very fact that they re-opened the investigation 10 days before election day suggests that they might have some very important information?

Politics In General / Re: Presidential Election
« Last post by Jim Nunziato on October 21, 2016, 06:58:40 PM »
I realize that this is an old thread, but the stakes are just as high, and the point is even more relevant than when I made the original post.

It's now down to Hillary or Trump. I cannot understand how there can still be "undecided" voters, with less than three weeks left until election day. These two candidates are S-O-O-O-O far apart, I find it mind-boggling that anyone hasn't "made up their mind" yet. Come ON!!! Either you want someone who is for bigger government, higher taxes, liberal Supreme Court nominees, open borders, etc. etc. etc. , or not!

And for you "Never Trumpers," still out there, please don't try to justify yourself by "sitting this one out." One of these two candidates will become the next president of the United States. That's a fact, and like it or not, your vote can help to steer it either way. Not voting for Trump allows a vote for Hillary to go UN-neturalized. If you can't bear the thought of Hillary as president,  and you refuse to vote for Trump, remember that the only way Hillary will NOT be electled, is for someone else to get MORE votes than her. Trump is the ONLY ONE who can do that, but only with the support of everyone who claims to be a conservative. Remember, obama won his second term with a half million vote margin. The only reason he was able to accomplish that, was because FOUR MILLION republicans "couldn't bring themselves to vote for Romney." Nice going!  Good job!

So, if you're still undecided, or can't bring yourself to vote for Trump, let me ask you a few questions:

Of the two candidates, which one do you think will be most likely to:

1. - Nominate justices to the Supreme Court who will be more likely to honor the CONSTITUTION and our Laws over the "feelings" of the people?

2. - Secure our borders?

3. - Preserve our 2nd amendment?

4. - Improve our economy?

5. - Fight Radical Islamic Terrorism?

...and the list goes on.

To you "never Trumpers," Remember, we're not hiring a pastor, youth minister, or favorite uncle. We're electing a president who will do what's best to turn our country around from the destructive direction which Hillary wants to continue.  I ask you to get over yourself and vote for who you honestly believe can actually get elected, and do the best job for our country!!!

Just For Fun / Measuring water
« Last post by Jim Nunziato on August 09, 2016, 10:56:34 PM »
You've been invited, and agree to join a few close friends on a week-long camping trip to a cabin in the woods.

After everyone is settled in, on the first morning, pancakes are on the menu for breakfast. In order to make enough for everyone, Cookie tells you to fetch exactly 2 gallons of water from the well.

When you get to the well, you find only two jugs, one marked "7 Gallons" and the other, "13 Gallons." You have no other measuring devices.

How do you return with exactly 2 gallons of water?

The State Legislature of North Carolina approved a bill exempting judges and other civil service personnel from penalty for refusing to officiate and/or process applications for “same sex” marriages, if they find “same sex” marriages to be contrary to their church/religious beliefs.  The Governor of North Carolina vetoed the bill.  The State Legislature overruled the veto of the Governor of North Carolina, and the Bill became law.

There should have never been a need for this law in the first place.

On May 8, 2012, North Carolina voters approved North Carolina Amendment 1 to the North Carolina State Constitution. It read:  "Marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this State. This section does not prohibit a private party from entering into contracts with another private party; nor does this section prohibit courts from adjudicating the rights of private parties pursuant to such contracts."  The vote was 61.04% to 38.96%, with a voter turnout of 34.66%. State law already defined marriage as being between a man and a woman.  The people of the State of North Carolina had already spoken.

On July 28, 2014, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit affirmed a lower court ruling in Virginia in favor of the freedom to marry, declaring that banning same-sex couples from marriage is unconstitutional. The decision affirmed the February 13 ruling from U.S. District Court Judge Arenda L. Wright Allen in Bostic v. Schaefer, in which same-sex couples sought the freedom to marry, and respect for their marriages legally performed in other states. On October 6, the United States Supreme Court denied review of this case, meaning that same-sex couples would have the freedom to marry in Virginia. Since the 4th Circuit also covers Maryland, West Virginia, North and South Carolina, the decision by the Supreme Court to refuse review meant the 4th Circuit decision stood as case law in the other states. With the exception of Maryland, where same-sex marriage was already legal, court cases were promptly filed to strike down various state laws and amendments.

Shortly after 5 p.m. on Oct. 10, 2014, U.S. District Court Judge Max O. Cogburn, Jr. in Asheville issued a ruling in the case of General Synod of the United Church of Christ, et al. v. Drew Reisinger, Register of Deeds of Buncombe County, declaring the amendment approved by state voters in 2012 "and any other source of state law that operates to deny same-sex couples the right to marry in the State of North Carolina or prohibits recognition of same-sex marriages lawfully solemnized in other States, Territories, or a District of the United States, or threatens clergy or other officiants who solemnize the union of same-sex couples with civil or criminal penalties" unconstitutional.

Since there is nothing in the U.S. Constitution protecting anyone's right to marry, nor granting Congress any power concerning marriage, and the 10th amendment clearly states:  "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." The fact that the U.S. court system involved itself in the first place is unconstitutional.  This is clearly a state issue, and in North Carolina's case, there was already an existing state law, and a state constitutional amendment defining marriage as a union between one man and one woman.  The people of North Carolina had already spoken and decided for themselves how they wanted to treat same-sex marriage. Whatever happened to "Government of the people, by the people, for the people?"

It should have never become necessary, but because of U.S. federal courts overstepping their areas of jurisdiction, on May 28, 2015, NC Senate Bill 2 was ratified. This bill would have allowed magistrates and Clerks of Court to recuse  themselves from performing same-sex marriages because of conflicts with personal religious beliefs.  On May 28, Gov. Pat McCrory vetoed the bill, but his veto was over-ruled in the NC General Assembly, and it became law in spite of his veto.

This (state) bill was written in direct response to the U.S. (federal) court ruling which disregarded the 1st amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which deemed our state laws and state constitution to be "unconstitutional." It would allow those with the authority to perform marriages, the ability to refrain from performing same-sex marriages based on their own individual religious beliefs.

The first amendment in the Bill of Rights says, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." The majority opinion of "We the People" who are in opposition of same-sex marriage are opposed to it based on religious beliefs.  The U.S. Federal judicial ruling establishes precedent which "prohibits the free exercise thereof" and therefore violates the 1st amendment.

The Living Room / Re: Memorial Day
« Last post by Janet Nunziato on May 24, 2016, 01:57:01 PM »
Not only for Memorial Day is this true, but for every major holiday or observance on the calendar.  It's the same for Washington's/Lincoln's birthdays, Easter, Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.  Now, I've deliberately mentioned many of those holidays/observances which have historical (to OUR nation) or religious significance here in our beloved country.  I did not include the entire multitude of additional holidays/observances, though, which are important to others for their own reasons. It's all about the sales, rarely about what the makes the day significant.

Here is a list, although perhaps not all inclusive, of the many holidays recognized in our country.  You pick which ones you think are important!   ::)

You are absolutely right in that capitalism is the engine which drives our economy, and that's GOOD, but is it too much to ask that in all the rush to make (and spend) money, that everyone just STOP for a minute or three to give recognition to the purpose of the holiday?  :(

Welcome to our Memorial Day theme to honor those who paid the ultimate price to preserve our freedom.

I've recently noticed a lot of TV commercials and newspaper ads capitalizing on the holiday with terms like, "Memorial Day Blowout!" and "Memorial Day Sale!" and referring to your "Memorial Day Picnic or Cookout"...

What really strikes me is that in not one of those "Memorial Day" TV commercials or newspaper ads, did I hear one single mention of what the holiday is really about.

Capitalism is a great thing, but, C'mon, guys, how about a little respect for those who paid the ultimate price so you can continue to live in a free country.

It's downright shameful.

We here at myconstitution.info thank all members of our armed services, and all veterans for their service!

I agree with you completely. It is a long time till November. My hope is that some of these "never Trump" folks will get some sense, see that we don't want Bill as "first Lady", and vote for Trump and all the other Republicans.

Current Events / NC House Bill 2
« Last post by Jim Nunziato on May 07, 2016, 04:50:42 PM »
We've heard all the controversy over HB2, or more commonly known as the "Bathroom Bill."  Is it really that discriminatory and wrong? Has anyone read the actual text of it so you can decide for yourself, or are you simply relying just on the media hype that you hear about it?

Well, how about you actually read it, and then we'll talk. Go ahead, I'll wait...

Ok, now we can have an intelligent, informed discussion...

Can anyone please point out to me the page, and line number where it says that a private company or small public business can not provide whatever arrangements they so desire to accommodate the .03% of the American population when it comes to bathroom facilities?  Please show me where this bill (now signed into law) violates the right of a private business to set up and cater to any segment of their clientele as they may choose, pertaining to their bathroom facilities. That is precisely what the city of Charlotte wanted to do. They wanted to set themselves up as the "Bathroom Police" for everyone. Not so in this law.

This law pertains to bathroom, changing room, dressing room, and shower rooms etc. controlled by state owned or operated facilities. This law simply says that in all state controlled facilities, the only persons allowed to use a gender-specific bathroom are persons who are designated that specific gender on their birth certificate. If you have an issue with that, fine. That's a separate topic for discussion.

The Main Stream Media is barking up the wrong tree when they make a lot of noise about cancelling businesses in North Carolina because of this law. The law does not dictate how private businesses must set up their bathrooms. Singers and bands who cancel their concerts because of it are either mis or un-informed because they would be performing in privately owned stadiums and concert halls, and this law does not apply in those privately owned facilities. They are still allowed to set up their bathrooms any way they desired.

Target stores, for one, have set up their bathrooms so anyone can go into whatever bathroom they choose, for whatever reason. They are a private company and are free to do so. I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't think very many folks would think its a good idea to let a 250lb man follow a small girl into the ladies room, just because he felt like using the ladies room. And that is what this law is about. If a private corporation or business wants to take that chance and gamble with a little girl's safety, then, if anything happens, they will be held liable. The state, with this law is simply saying, "Not in OUR rest rooms!"

I'll bet the American shopper, will speak loud and clear with their dollars. Let's watch those corporations & private businesses who allow any and everyone to use whatever bathroom they choose, and see how well or poorly they do financially.
